Pricing and Engagement Structure
Every engagement is scoped individually because no two organizations have the same needs, timeline, or complexity. Pricing is based on the scope and duration of the work — not a one-size-fits-all rate card. The best way to get a realistic sense of cost is to start with a free discovery call where we can talk through what you actually need.
Retainers are structured around a committed number of days per week — typically half a day to two days. That capacity is reserved for your organization each month. Engagements have a 6-month minimum initial term, renewable in 6-month increments with 60 days’ written notice to exit. There’s also a project-based model for organizations with a specific named initiative rather than an ongoing portfolio — that one is scoped to the project and ends at handoff.
Project-based engagements like the AI Readiness Review and AI Implementation Leadership have a defined scope and clear end point. The Fractional Project Director retainer has a 6-month minimum initial term — enough time to actually move the needle — with 60 days’ notice to exit after that. I don’t lock clients into commitments beyond what the work requires.
Yes — and that’s actually how most client relationships start. The AI Readiness Review is specifically designed as a lower-commitment entry point that gives you real value on its own while naturally opening the door to a larger implementation engagement if you’re ready.
Not necessarily, but it’s strongly recommended. The Readiness Review exists because implementing AI without understanding your data environment, workflow gaps, and organizational readiness is one of the most reliable ways to waste the investment. If you’ve already done a thorough internal assessment or worked with another firm on discovery, we can discuss whether a full Readiness Review is still needed or whether a shorter discovery phase at the start of the implementation engagement makes more sense.
How I Work / My Process
I embed with your team rather than operating as an outside advisor who parachutes in for meetings. That means regular touchpoints with your team, active participation in project decisions, and clear accountability for delivery. You’ll always know where things stand, what’s at risk, and what’s coming next.
I adapt to your existing tools and communication preferences — whether that’s Microsoft Teams, Slack, email, or regular status meetings. Leadership reporting is built into every engagement so executives have clear, consistent visibility into project health without having to chase it down.
Primarily remote, which works well for most engagements. For organizations where on-site presence adds real value — particularly during critical project phases — that can be arranged. We’ll figure out what makes sense for your situation during the discovery process.
Typically within two to four weeks of a signed agreement, depending on current availability. If your timeline is urgent, mention it on the discovery call and we’ll figure out what’s possible.
PMO Services builds the organizational capability — the frameworks, templates, governance, and processes your team uses to run projects. Fractional Project Director puts a senior PM in the seat to actually lead projects. Many clients end up doing both over time: build the function, then have ongoing leadership while it matures. If you’re not sure which you need, the discovery call usually makes it clear within 15 minutes.
Who I Work With
I work best with healthcare organizations — including FQHCs, clinics, and hospitals — and mid-market companies typically ranging from 50 to 500 employees. These organizations are large enough to have complex initiatives but often don’t have the internal project leadership bandwidth to execute them well. That’s exactly the gap I fill.
Yes — in fact that’s one of the most common situations I work in. The PMO Services engagement is specifically designed for organizations that are starting from scratch or working with informal processes that have outgrown their usefulness.
No. Healthcare is one of my focus areas because of its specific complexity around compliance, change management, and technology adoption — but I work with mid-market organizations across industries. If you’re unsure whether your organization is a good fit, the discovery call will answer that quickly.
AI Consulting Specifics
That’s exactly what the AI Readiness Review is for. Most organizations that come to me aren’t sure — and that uncertainty is healthy. Rushing into AI adoption without understanding your readiness is one of the most common reasons initiatives fail. Not knowing where you stand is a starting point, not a disqualifier.
Often, yes — and previous failures actually provide useful information. Understanding what went wrong is part of how we build a more realistic and resilient path forward. A failed initiative doesn’t mean AI isn’t right for your organization. It usually means the approach, timing, or execution wasn’t right.
I’m vendor-neutral. My role is to help you identify what’s right for your organization — not to sell you a particular platform or tool. If you already have vendor relationships in place, I can work within them. If you’re starting fresh, I can help you evaluate options objectively.
No vendor relationships, no referral arrangements, no preferred tools. My job in Phase 2 of any implementation engagement is to shortlist the right vendors for your specific environment and evaluate them objectively. That independence is the point.
That’s fine. The AI Readiness Review stands on its own as a pure consulting engagement. For implementation work, some level of project leadership is usually necessary for success — but we can scope that conversation based on what you actually need.
